About this tool

Calculate your net salary — see what actually lands each month after social security and withholding tax. Just enter your salary and the tool shows your take-home pay with each deduction broken out. It's ideal for negotiating pay, comparing job offers, or planning monthly budgets.

Social security is 5% of salary (max 750 THB), and tax is estimated from annual income using the Revenue Department's progressive brackets. Your real figure depends on your personal deductions. For detailed tax planning use the tax calculator, which already includes the insurance-premium deductions.

As a feel for the numbers: on a ฿25,000 salary the social security contribution is ฿750 and withholding tax is small, so take-home is roughly ฿24,000. At ฿50,000 the tax bite grows to a few thousand baht a month, and at ฿100,000 it matters a lot — which is why comparing two job offers on gross salary alone can mislead. Run both offers through the tool and compare take-home instead. Social security also buys real benefits (medical care, unemployment and pension contributions), so it isn't money lost.

How to use

  1. 1Enter your monthly salary
  2. 2Add any other monthly deductions, e.g. provident fund (optional)
  3. 3See your monthly take-home pay with the social security and tax deductions

Frequently asked questions

How much is the social security deduction?
Employees contribute 5% of salary, computed on a base capped at 15,000 THB — so at most 750 THB/month (with a 1,650 THB minimum base).
How is the withholding tax calculated?
It annualises salary (×12), deducts expenses, the personal allowance and social security, applies the progressive brackets, then divides back to a monthly figure.
Why might my company's figure differ?
Everyone's deductions differ — life insurance, funds, children, parents, mortgage interest. This estimates from the basic allowances; add other deductions to get closer.
How can I plan to reduce my tax?
See all deductions and a detailed calculation on the [tax page](/tax). Life and health insurance premiums are deductible too.
