- Is my contract uploaded to a server?
- No. Opening the file, placing the signature and saving all happen inside your browser, on your device. That matters here more than anywhere: documents that need signing usually carry names, addresses, ID numbers and figures you'd rather not hand to a stranger's server.
- Is this signature legally valid?
- It's an electronic signature in the form of a signature image — the same standing as signing a printout and scanning it, which is accepted for everyday business paperwork. It is not a certificate-based digital signature, so if a document specifically requires one, use a service that issues certificates.
- Can I sign any page, or several places?
- You can move to any page before placing the signature. To sign in more than one spot, save the file and run the signed copy through again — repeat as many times as you need.
- Will it line up on a scan that's rotated or upside down?
- Yes. The tool accounts for the PDF's page rotation, so the signature lands exactly where — and the way — you see it on screen. This is where a lot of other tools get scanned documents wrong.
- What image format should I upload?
- A PNG with a transparent background is best: only the ink shows over the document. A JPG with a white background will cover the text underneath with a white rectangle.
